Frequently asked questions
1. Choosing a safari
How do I find the right safari?
Use the search bar on the homepage or the filters on the Safaris page. You can narrow by destination, safari type, travel month, number of days, budget per person, group size and accommodation style — and share the results link with your travel companions.
What is the difference between a private and a group joining safari?
A private safari is just for your party, in your own vehicle, on dates you choose. A group joining safari runs on fixed departure dates and you share the vehicle with other travellers, which usually lowers the price per person. Each safari page shows which format it is.
Can you plan a safari that is not listed?
Yes. Use the “Plan my safari” form to tell us where you would like to go, when, for how long, your budget and your travel style, and we will put together a tailor-made itinerary.
When is the best time to go on safari?
Wildlife viewing is possible all year. The dry months are generally the easiest for game viewing, and the Great Migration usually reaches the Maasai Mara between July and October, although timing varies each year. The “When to go” section on the homepage links to safaris running in each month.
2. Booking
How do I book a safari?
Open the safari, choose a departure date (or your preferred date for private safaris), enter the number of travellers and send the booking request. You will see an estimated price straight away. Our team then confirms availability and sends you a detailed quote.
Is my booking confirmed when I send the form?
Not yet — the form is a booking request. Your place is confirmed once we have checked availability with you and the deposit has been received. [Siki Wild Safaris to confirm this answer before launch.]
How much deposit do I need to pay, and how?
The deposit amount and accepted payment methods are shown on your quote. [Siki Wild Safaris to confirm this answer before launch.]
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are included with your quote and in our booking terms. [Siki Wild Safaris to confirm this answer before launch.]
3. On safari
What is included in the price?
Every safari page lists exactly what is included and excluded — typically park fees, accommodation, meals on safari, transport and a professional driver-guide. Check the “Included” and “Not included” lists on the safari you are interested in.
Why do prices differ for residents and non-residents?
National park and reserve entry fees are set by the park authorities and differ for citizens, residents and international visitors. Tell us your residency status on the booking form so your quote uses the correct park fees.
Can children join a safari?
Yes. Add the number of children and their ages on the booking form. Some lodges and activities have minimum ages, and we will advise you when we send your quote.
Do I need an account to book?
No. You only need your name, a phone or WhatsApp number and an email address.
